Breaking down The King’s signature shoes for Season 21
As LeBron James extends his dominant and frankly awe-inspiring career for another season, Nike Basketball have announced their latest collaboration with The King.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar continues to defy all the odds and hasn’t shown any signs of regressing as he prepares to begin another campaign in the National Basketball Association. Last season, at the age of 38, LeBron had a top 5 season in his career for points and rebounds, once again demonstrating his sheer dominance and longevity.
In anticipation of his 21st NBA season, Nike Basketball have introduced the newest signature model in their long-lasting collaboration with LeBron James – the Nike LeBron 21.
The LeBron 21 is designed and built for basketball’s next generation of hoopers. The shoe is inspired by Zhuri, LeBron’s eight-year-old daughter, and its upper design is modelled after the properties of an oyster shell – purposefully protecting the pearl inside. This design comparatively is demonstrating the necessary protection of the wearer’s foot inside the shoe due to the explosivity and intensity required in the modern game of basketball.
No doubt, LeBron will continue to thrive on the court for the 23/24 season, as he searches for his 5th NBA Championship. Yet it’s also clear that his legacy off the court is not slowing down either, as the new LeBron 21 may just be his best yet.
