PUMA MB.03 Performance Review
Get to know the PUMA MB.03
However, the Charlotte Hornets Point Guard has not disappointed at all as he has taken the league by storm, winning Rookie of the Year in 2021 and then gaining his first NBA All-Star appearance a year later.
As we enter the 2023/24 season, the 22-year-old is hoping to make another leap on the court and lead his Hornets team back into the playoffs for the first time since 2016 – the longest current play-off drought in the NBA.
The Puma MB.01 was deemed as one of the greatest debut signature basketball sneakers of all time for its design and on-court capabilities. Since then, there has been no slowing down and the Puma MB.03 seems to have taken the collection to another level.
Just like Melo’s stand out performances on the court, the original “Toxic” colourway is visually emphatic with a majority purple colourway alongside regular colour splashes of green and pink.
The shoe’s upper demonstrates a blend of engineered mesh and TPU, displaying Ball’s iconic branding on both the tongue and heel of the shoe.
A striking pink midsole is infused with Nitro Foam, with the colour matching some distinct scratches that add even more excitement to the colourway and design.
The cushion and design of the dense midsole has improved support and traction, adding further protection for the wearer but not compromising on performance.
The improved traction and impact protection from the previous Puma MB models help provide more court-feel, allowing the hooper to display sharpness when changing direction while also providing protection to the foot and ankle.
Puma and LaMelo Ball are a force growing rapidly in the Basketball world. Following on from this “Toxic” colourway launching on 27/10/23, more colourways will be dropping on the Pro:Direct Basketball Website and Pro:Direct Sport App in the near future, so stay tuned.
